EA Ninja party game coming 2008

EA is creating a ninja-themed minigame compilation, or that is, party game, for the Wii and DS. It’s been announced that this game is titled Ninja Reflex. Anyone who’s checked the official site knows that details are somewhat, what is the word, sketchy? Anyways, both the Wii and DS versions are scheduled for release next March.

With the Wii already having party games, like Mario Party and Rayman Raving Rabbids, let’s hope Ninja Reflex can set itself apart from the crowd.


The new blog

For a while now I’ve been posting updates for Super Smash Bros Brawl on both this site and at The Smash Daily. However, I will no longer be posting Brawl updates at Wii Secrets. That is, only major updates. This way I can concentrate more on other news over here. Anyway, the site’s here if you want to check it out. Thank you, that is all.

Wario’s Final Smash

As Wario grabs a Smash ball, his Final Smash is activated. He eats garlic, transforms, and becomes…




This transformation allows Wario to pull off some new moves that may turn the tide in battle. Examples:



You can float during this air move.


This is described as a “sideway-sliding shoulder tackle.” Quite. Also, it’s been advised not to use your bike while you’re Wario-Man. Why? Well, let’s just say it’s a bit faster.


Brawl features widescreen support

Those with widescreen televisions can enjoy the widescreen feature in Brawl. Observe.


This is the normal display.


And this is widescreen. This can be changed in Options.


The differences are 4:3 and 16:9, but it’s pretty simple. I mean, there are two choices, so choose the option that’s shaped like your TV. Standard or widescreen, though, the KO border surrounding the stage is the same, which is probably a good thing.

Wii getting Unreal Engine 3 game

Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games, recently stated when questioned whether Unreal Engine 3 was coming to the Wii,

“I know one of our licensees who’s giving it a shot. It’s their own port, in the same way Ubisoft brought Unreal Engine 2 to the Wii.”

Who’s the licensee? Hmm. Anyway, when Ubisoft brought Unreal Engine 2 to the Wii, the result was the first-person shooter, Red Steel. I wonder what’s up now.

Lucas’ Final Smash

After grabbing a Smash Ball, Lucas can activate his Final Smash, PK Star Storm, and-well, see for yourself.




He he he. Hence, PK “Star Storm”. Look at all the little guys trying to escape. As the storm continues, more and more stars come crashing down at once. Apparently it is most effective during the smaller stages.

Brawl Character Costumes

Sakurai has announced some really cool costume changes that are to be in Brawl. People have been talking about Dark Link for awhile, but now we get a close up look. Also, Samus’ Fusion Suit, Dark Fox, and Dark Pit. And a cool Zelda costume. Oh, and Yeti DK.







Somebody tell me if that’s a scope on Dark Fox’s gun. Yeah, I think it is. Cool. Oh, and there’s more pictures of costume changes below. I just posted the ones above first because I thought they were cooler.
